Birthday beauty!

Hello again!

So recently I have had my birthday. I didn't have that great a time as the weather was poor so I was unable to go out and enjoy myself, however I did have a great time with my family and friends the the surrounding days and received some fantastic gifts! As I had asked for, the majority of these were beauty orientated. I'd come to notice a few of my products were running out or getting too old to use, so I'd put a few of these on my list, lucky enough to receive a few.

My most wanted products have to be the First Aid Beauty (FAB) face cream and face cleanser. I had had my eyes on these for a while over on Beauty Bay, and heard good things about them. I've been using these for just over a week now, and my face feels and looks a look better than previously. They have really helped with rehydrating my face as it tends to get rather dry, especially out in the cold. The cleanser lathers really well, and is very soft. It doesn't irritate my skin like some cleansers. Previously I was having to use my brothers face wash as none of the female ones were gentle enough on my skin! The face cream is unscented, and only one pump is needed to cover my whole face, this was surprising as one pump is about the size of a pea! It spreads across the face really well, and doesn't take long at all to be absorbed into the skin; once it does your face will be feeling very soft. I would recommend this to everyone, especially those with dry skin as it has really helped mine. I am yet to use the smooth shave cream as I am using up other products first, but I am sure it will be really hydrating and leave my legs free from rash and very soft.

As most people know, I am a mad nail polish girl! I love to paint my nails and really enjoy creating new designs. One of the polishes I received was an Essie polish in the colour 'in stitches'. I want to describe it as a plum/terracotta but these are two completely different colours! This deep pink is absolutely beautiful. This is only my second Essie polish as I was unimpressed with the first one I purchased so have steered clear ever since, however this one paints very well and gives great coverage even from one layer. The next polish was a top coat- 'Save the Nail' by Nails inc. London. I have never been too keen on Nails inc. polishes, however this is now going to be my regular topcoat. It contains an acrylic formula that definitely prevents from chipping and it does dry in 45 seconds like the packaging said. I was able to wear this on top of 'in stitches' and the polish lasted 5 days before I wanted a change, however I'm sure it would last longer if left to it. I have been wanting to try Deborah Lippmann polishes for a while, and I received this one from my parents as a little extra as its in the colour 'happy birthday'. I love the variety of bright glitter in this as it looks very pretty painted on the nail, and unlike other glitter polishes, a lot come off and disperses onto the nail. This is definitely my favourite glitter polish I own!

All the make up brushes I own are all old and cheap drugstore owns, so when one of my friends had got me the Real Techniques shading brush and a cosmopolitan beauty blender, I was very excited to try them! The shading brush is so soft, and definitely isn't rough on the eyelid. I have been really inspired by the Chapman sisters and would love to support Sam by purchasing her brush line, which is why, recently I bought her starter set. The cosmopolitan beauty blender is a lot cheaper then that real beauty blenders, and although I have never tried a real one, I am really loving this one! It's very good at distributing the foundation, and really does give an airbrushed finish. The only problem with this is that it's rather difficult to clean! The 'mister mascara' precision point tweezers were on my 2013 wishlist, so I was really excited when I opened them. They have lived up to all my expectations, I really love them. They are very good for getting rid of short eyebrow hairs that aren't very easily got rid of by a regular pair of tweezers.

The final and most exciting thing I got for my birthday was a subscription to Glossy box, I was definitely not expecting this, but I am very glad to say it was a pleasant surprise! I received my first one on the 9th February, the day before my birthday, so I was allowed to open it as the packaging wasn't very subtle as to what it was! In this was an anatomicals shower wash, micabella cosmetics blush sample, ModelCo. eye shadow duo, Dr. Renaud face cream and a HelenÉ lipstick. I was very impressed with all these products, but the lipstick isn't in a colour I would ever wear! I really look forward to receiving these every month as I would love to find some new, high end beauty products that I love.

Boots- tea tree and witch hazel

Hello again!

The other day I was out shopping, and as usual I happened to find myself in Boots...
I just went in to purchase some essentials, shampoo, deodorant etc. when I came across the BiorĂ© nose strips. I'd heard really great things about these through youtubers and blog posts, and was about to buy some until I saw they were £7.99, when I wasn't even sure they'd be worth it. This was when I came across a cheaper alternative, boots own nose strips from the 'tea tree and witch hazel' line. As Boots do with their '3 for 2' deals, I was also tempted into buying their foaming face wash and blemish stick.

I will be using these over the next few weeks and tell you how it goes!

Thank you

Bath time!

Hello again!

Recently I have fallen in love with baths, and it's all because of a new bubble bath I have found and come to love! This is the 'Wu Wei' cream bath, bath foam by Rituals...
This retails for around £11.50, and I'm not too sure where it's from as it was a gift to my mum, however their company website does ship for £3.50, which is pretty cheap!

This bath foam is scented with Organic White Lotus and Green Tea, which are known as the 'symbols of purity and spiritual growth'
It smells gorgeous, and the website does not lie.. it really does leave your skin feeling nourished and silky soft. The bubbles/bath foam this product produces come in vast quantities and stay for a good 45 minutes, none of the vanishing bubbles that only last about 10!
I really love the packaging, as it isn't a screw top and comes off without any effort, which is the last thing you want whilst relaxing in the bath! The bamboo top and mint green bottle look very nice on the bathroom shelf, and are't horribly vibrant like some of the bottles bath products come in!

I would rate this product 9.5/10, as I will always leave room in case a better product comes along. However I will be surprised if any bath product impresses me as much as this has done- I am in love!
